About the Role
Our clients are establishing a new Luxembourg-based SPF as part of a long-term investment platform for the Family Office.
The company will operate under a discretionary investment mandate, with a clear governance framework and close collaboration with the board of Directors.
We are now seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to lead the development and execution of the company’s investment strategy.
Working closely with the General Manager, the Board, and external advisors, you will help shape a long-term investment platform and be responsible for deploying capital in accordance with a defined discretionary mandate.
This role is ideal for an investment professional with deep knowledge of fund-based asset management, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to navigate complex investment environments.
You will have broad exposure to international managers and be responsible for evaluating, selecting, and following up on investments over time.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of the company’s investment strategy in collaboration with the General Manager, Board of Directors, and external advisors
- Identify, evaluate, and engage with external funds in accordance with the defined strategy
- Maintain an active overview of the market and build a strong network of relevant managers and counterparties
- Prepare recommendations and execute investments based on the company's mandate and delegated authorities
- Monitor the performance and positioning of external managers through regular dialogue, digital meetings, and 1–2 annual in-person reviews
- Assess larger individual investments in detail, including performance, positioning, valuation, and alignment with the agreed investment philosophy
- Monitor the fund’s developments in management teams, ownership, and organisational structures that may impact long-term performance
- Maintain an up-to-date and structured view of the full investment portfolio, and contribute to internal reporting and analysis
- Work closely with the GM on portfolio oversight, liquidity planning, and documentation
- Use the company’s data and accounting systems to organise investment records and portfolio monitoring
- Contribute with expertise and capacity to the non-profit organisation (TBD)
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant professional experience, including 5–10 years within asset management, preferably with exposure to fund-based investments
- Strong analytical and strategic skills, with a structured approach to investment evaluation and decision-making
- Proven track record in manager selection and oversight
- Excellent understanding of financial markets, asset classes, and investment vehicles
- Network within the asset management industry
- High integrity, sound judgment, and ability to operate independently
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French, German, or Luxembourgish is an advantage
