Introduction
Our client is a Family Office covering a range of businesses in property development, mining, and other industries.
They are currently looking to appoint a Financial Manager to assist the CFO and manage a small team.
The role is based on-site in the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day accounting and financial administration of the Family Office and related entities.
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Manage budgeting, cash-flow forecasting and monitoring of expenditure against budget.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, payments and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate accounting records for companies, trusts, investments, properties and other family assets.
- Manage intercompany, shareholder and trust-related transactions and reconciliations.
- Coordinate tax, VAT, payroll and statutory compliance requirements with external advisors.
- Assist with annual financial statements, audits and year-end processes.
- Maintain appropriate financial controls, approval processes and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, tax advisors, investment managers and other external service providers.
- Prepare financial information and reports for the CFO and Family Office principals as required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion regarding all financial and personal affairs of the family.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting efficiency.
- Perform other financial and administrative duties reasonably required by the CFO.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Honours in Accounting with articles completed
- 5 years' experience covering relevant industries and responsibilities
- CA(SA), PA(SA)/SAIPA, or CIMA highly beneficial
Package & Remuneration
Up to R700k per annum, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
