POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a full-time entry level Staff Accountant to support both real estate and corporate accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month‑end close activities, and compliance with internal controls. This role works closely with property management, corporate finance, and cross‑functional teams to maintain the integrity of financial information and support business operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process real estate accounts payable invoices within Nexus (Bottomline) system, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely payments for assigned properties.
- Submit real estate accounts payable invoices to be paid within Microsoft Business Central system, ensuring proper coding and timely payments for headquarters building.
- Support corporate month‑end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation tracking for all properties.
- Ensure accounting practices follow GAAP and internal policies.
- Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and internal control initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- 0- 2 years’ experience in accounting using accounting principles; previous experience via professional internships is strongly preferred
- Basic understanding of GAAP and standard accounting and finance principles and practice.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and time management.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Desire to learn new technology with an inclination for automation and process improvement
- Positive, professional attitude and excellent customer service skills
- Dependability along with a strong work ethic and high degree of integrity
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The projected salary range for this position is $60K-$70K, however final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, including education, relevant experience, and skills. This position is also eligible for an annual incentive.
