Introduction
Our client is a leading US-based Audit, Tax, and Advisory firm seeking experienced South African tax professionals to join their growing international tax team. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with US-based clients and engagement teams, supporting a diverse portfolio that includes Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) individuals, real estate investors, partnerships, closely held businesses, trusts, and family offices.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120 - S and 1041 returns.
- Prepare supporting workpapers and tax schedules.
- Review returns prepared by junior team members.
- Support UHNW individuals, family offices, real estate investors and privately owned businesses.
- Prepare tax projections and estimated tax calculations.
- Analyse partnership allocations, basis calculations and capital account reporting.
- Prepare and review K-1 reporting and related schedules.
- Review depreciation schedules and fixed asset reporting.
- Assist with real estate taxation matters, including passive activity and Section 199A considerations.
- Perform federal and state tax research.
- Assist with IRS notices and tax authority correspondence.
- Monitor US tax legislation changes and communicate impacts.
- Ensure compliance with firm quality standards and deadlines.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or related field.
• SAICA articles, CPA pathway exposure or equivalent qualification advantageous.
Experience
• Minimum 3 years of recent, hands - on US Tax experience.
• Experience preparing and/or reviewing US tax returns.
• Experience working with US - based clients and engagement teams.
• Exposure to real estate taxation, partnerships and UHNW clients highly advantageous.
