Responsibilities

This individual would play a role as a member of the Private Client Services (PCS) and Family Office (FO) practices for the Canadian Geography, KPMG Global Services (KGS). The individual would be reporting in to the Assistant Manager at KGS and would be responsible for:

  • Provide day-to-day support to Assistant Managers to assist with the delivery of tax computations and client service.
  • Help PCS clients meet their federal and state tax obligations. This includes examining their tax situations and performing accurate calculations using their financial documents and determining clients refunds or the amount of taxes owed.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to prepare tax returns, and filing appropriate paperwork, all while providing excellent customer service.
  • Develops knowledge of current tax legislation across Canada & US Personal Tax.
  • Involve majorly in preparation of complex tax returns with forms like 5471, 3520, 3520-A, 8621, 8858, T1135, T1161, T1243, T1244 etc., alongside review tasks of the job completed by the preparers.
  • Act as buddy to the junior staff and be in charge of their technical grooming.
  • Demonstrates strong commitment to personal learning and development; acts as a brand ambassador to help attract top talent.

Qualifications

Educational qualifications

•Minimum Master Degree from reputable universities with excellent academic result, majoring in Accounting or Finance

Work experience

•Minimum of 3 to 4 year of professional experience, preferably in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 public accounting firm.

Mandatory  technical & functional skills

•Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in Canada & US GAAP and tax compliance.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e., Excel).
•Understanding of Canada & US personal taxes, State & Provincial returns & Foreign Reporting Forms.
