General Overview:


The Senior Family Accountant supports the Family Advisors and works closely with other Waycrosse Professionals to problem solve, take ownership of projects, and work directly with clients. Projects can vary but the focus is on accounting analysis related to individuals and trusts, income tax and cash flow projections, as well as supporting the Family Advisor with all aspects of a client’s financial life. In this position, multi-tasking is required with time and information sensitive activities.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Preparing, updating, and reviewing schedules and managing workflows related to client meetings/requests
  • Preparing and updating individual, foundation, trust and entity cash flow and financial statements
  • Direct client contact, addressing inquiries and providing timely, accurate information regarding their financial matters
  • Trust administration, including trust accounting, journal entries, distribution requests and meeting material preparation for Trusts
  • Review quarterly financial statements and monthly cash transaction statements
  • Compile information and review tax estimates and tax returns for individual, trust, entity and foundation tax returns
  • Perform ad hoc duties and handle special projects as requested (ie: new account set up, bill payment, scanning, preparing journal entries, ACH and wire transfer requests, etc.)

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business required
  • CPA or CFP preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in wealth management preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office products which include Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe; eMoney experience a plus.
  • Desire to grow and learn new tools, technologies and enhance processes
  • Proven experience in fast-paced environments, demonstrating the ability to solve tasks with urgency and efficiency
  • Must be a self-starter, take initiative and work effectively as a part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Superior interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive with the ability to anticipate needs before they arise
  • Experience directly serving individual clients.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in handling
    sensitive information.
  • Will be asked to take on tasks at several levels of experience and must be open and willing to support all levels required

Working Conditions:
The physical working conditions of this position include an office environment where sitting and working on a computer for extended periods of time are common.

Hybrid Work Environment:
We are currently in a hybrid work environment where employees are required to be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and may flex one additional days for a total of three days in office and two days remote. This work arrangement is subject to change and is at the discretion of Waycrosse.
