Senior Accountant – Ultra High-Net-Worth Family Office

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to support their Assistant Controller in overseeing the financial operations of our principals. This role requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can seamlessly manage multiple responsibilities, and possesses a strong background in accountingβ€”ideally within a family office setting or with exposure to trust accounting.

This position is 100% onsite in their office on the San Francisco Peninsula.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial reporting packages for the family office.
  • Manage and track personal and business expenses for the principals.
  • Reconcile cash accounts and investment portfolios, ensuring accuracy in financial records.
  • Perform financial data analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in the conversion and implementation of a new accounting software package.
  • Prepare tax supporting documentation and coordinate with the internal and external tax teams.
  • Support ad hoc financial projects as needed to meet the evolving needs of the family office.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a family office or with trust accounting exposure.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and investment accounting.
  • Experience managing complex financial data and cash flows for ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ability to adapt to new systems during software conversion.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential financial matters.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and wear multiple hats in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
