Your focus will be on maintaining accounting records to trial balance, preparing financial statements for trusts and companies, managing tax compliance and producing financial reports for client meetings and statutory requirements. A BCom Accounting degree together with completed SAIPA Articles and the professional examination are non-negotiable. Exposure to trusts and company structures is essential, along with knowledge of IFRS for SMEs, CaseWare, Xero and Microsoft Office. Registration as a Tax Practitioner, or the ability to complete the SARS readiness programme, will be advantageous.
