Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to oversee and optimise their diverse family office investment portfolio spanning the medical industry, financial services, farming operations, and private investments. This is a high-level role suited to a commercially astute professional with strong financial expertise and the ability to drive growth, manage risk, and identify new opportunities.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT (Non-Negotiable)
- Afrikaans must be your first language
- Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (written and verbal)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute investment strategies aligned with family goals
- Oversee and optimise performance across all investment portfolios
- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting
- Identify and assess new business and investment opportunities
- Lead due diligence, negotiations, and deal structuring
- Provide strategic input into family-owned businesses
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior family members
- Manage risk, compliance, and governance structures
- Oversee staff, processes, and operational efficiencies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or similar
- CA(SA), CIMA and/or MBA advantageous
- 8–10 years’ experience in investment management / senior finance roles
- Strong financial modelling, analysis, and strategic management skills
