PRIMARY FUNCTION – About the Role

The Family Wealth Intern will gain hands-on exposure to the core functions of a modern family office by working alongside professionals across Pitcairn’s Wealth Management Group and various supporting departments. This internship offers a practical introduction to comprehensive financial planning, investments, estate planning, insurance, tax, operations, family governance/education, and holistic wealth management while providing insights into how multi-generational client relationships are supported and grown.

 RESPONSIBILITIES – What You’ll Do

  • Support the preparation of client deliverables, including statements of cash flow, balance sheets, net worth summaries, and custom reporting tailored to the complexity of Pitcairn’s clients.
  • Assist with periodic client account reviews, which includes portfolio monitoring and rebalancing, reviewing investment policy statements, producing performance reports, and supporting firmwide compliance protocols.
  • Work closely with Relationship Managers and Family Wealth Associates/Analysts to gain knowledge of the day-to-day servicing of client relationships, assist hands-on with daily tasks, and contribute to long-term projects.
  • Collaborate with Client Services Associates on client materials, document processing, and mailings.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects at the firm and department level, and perform other responsibilities as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – What We’re Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (majors in Financial Planning, Business, Accounting, Economics, or Data Analytics strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated interest in financial planning, investments, and/or wealth management, with a general understanding of the global financial markets and broader macroeconomy.
  • Comfortability with learning and leveraging new software / technology platforms, with current proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).

 DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS - Skills & Attributes

  • Clear and professional communication skills (oral and written). Curious, proactive, and a strong eagerness to learn and contribute. High level of attention to detail and time management. Ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting, priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented workplace environment.
