Ascension Search Partners is exclusively engaged to hire a Family Office Finance and Accounting professional to assist in the build out and professionalization of a new family office. The Controller will be responsible for all aspects of investment accounting and personal finance administration, as well as other important finance operations including comprehensive accounting and reporting, tax planning, liquidity planning, budget forecasting, and expense management. The Finance & Accounting professional will be proactive in addressing issues that may be important in the future and will identify value‐add strategies that benefit the overall efficiency of family operations.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for individual family members and related entities, including trusts, family foundations, and investment vehicles.
• Coordinate with the tax firm to ensure delivery of complete tax package for timely filing of returns related tax payments.
• Execute day‐to‐day cash flow, expense processing, and vendor management.
• Develop liquidity reports / dashboards and cash forecasts for transparency with family members.
• Collaborate with external advisors/consultants (lawyers, investors, tax advisors, compliance officers, etc.).
• Continually monitor and evaluate processes and invoke changes/efficiencies where needed.
• Monitor active and pipeline investments for cash forecasting.
• Monitor investments and calculate performance metrics.
• Monitor debt facilities for payment obligations, maturity, covenant compliance, and bank reporting.
• Perform independent review of expenses and investment activity for reasonableness, identifying and investigating anomalies.
• Set up and review of internal controls.
• Respond to family inquiries regarding financial.
• Additional responsibilities as appropriate.


REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting - CPA preferred
• Background in public accounting with financial services emphasis, family office, private equity, or combination thereof
• 7+ years of progressive career development
• Ability to manage third party teams and drive deadlines
• Strong attention to detail, accounting policy and controls

• Excellent time management and organizational skills to successfully manage simultaneous workstreams
• A service mindset and outstanding communication skills
• Demonstrate proactive approaches to problem-solving, displaying strong decision-making capabilities

• Ethical decision maker, of high integrity, and one that operates at the highest level of confidentiality
