Faulk and Winkler is hiring an Advisory Senior to join our growing team and help build a leading local advisory practice supporting growth-minded business owners in a variety of ways.

As an Advisory Senior at Faulk and Winkler, you will provide a concierge approach and family office model to business owners by supporting them with a team of advisors in multiple disciplines who can proactively impact our client’s well-being. Your work will provide value to our clients by providing clarity, assisting them in achieving their goals, and giving clients more of their time back to spend on their business and enjoy life.

Things You’ll Do

  • Business Valuation
    • Schedule and analyze company financials, identify trends, adjustments, and comparison to industry benchmarks.
    • Research industry trends and market comparable transactions.
    • Develop and communicate questions to management to better understand the business.
    • Identify areas for improvement and work with stakeholders to develop simple action plans to address ways to increase value.
    • Leverage AI, internally developed processes, and existing assessment models to create our own method of providing a simple framework for business owners to understand and hold them accountable.
  • Transaction Advisory
    • Prepare quality of earnings analysis, which may include audit-like procedures and detail analysis of various aspects of a business for sell-side or buy-side purposes.
    • Identification and schedule or validate add-back adjustments with appropriate support and rationale.
    • Manage and organize large amounts of data and communicate to appropriate parties.
    • Prepare presentations and schedules to communicate results.
  • Family Office Suite of Services
    • Aggregate and organize various accounting, investment, and financial information across multiple businesses, investments, and personal use, and prepare summarized and relevant information for family stakeholders on total wealth, cash flow, liquidity, etc.
    • Perform diligence on investment opportunities and summarize to family stakeholders.
    • Oversee, manage, and report on performance of private investments (i.e. real estate, LP funds, private equity positions, etc.).
    • Oversee treasury functions for family stakeholders.
    • Provide proactive tax planning and coordination with outside advisors for individual, business, and estate tax needs.
    • Liaison between other outside professionals to better alignment on various issues, including legal, banking, insurance, wealth management, etc.
    • Assistance with special projects in the area of finance and accounting

About You

  • You have public or industry experience and are looking to serve clients in new and exciting ways. You bring senior-level experience (3-5 years) in any of the following areas or industries and are excited to learn the rest.
    • Corporate tax compliance and planning
    • High net worth tax and advisory
    • Estate and gift tax
    • Audit and assurance services
    • Business valuation
    • Financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
    • Transaction diligence for sell-side and/or buy-side businesses
    • Family office or multi-family offices
    • Corporate controller / assistant controller
    • Industry experience in “hard infrastructure” sectors, such as construction, industrial, manufacturing, transportation, and logistics.

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or higher. A CPA certification is preferred, and our firm offers a CPA certification pathway.
