Chief of Staff and Venture Builder for Family Office

19 London
Full-time
Remote friendly (London, England, United Kingdom)
United Kingdom
£110,000 - £140,000 GBP yearly

A pioneering and impact-driven family office is offering a rare opportunity for a highly strategic, organised, and driven Chief of Staff/Venture Builder to work alongside its visionary principals. This unique role blends operational leadership with venture creation, turning bold, climate-positive ideas into funded, revenue-generating companies. Acting as the trusted right hand to two exceptional entrepreneurs, you will play a pivotal role in a fast-moving environment where no two days are the same.

As Chief of Staff, you will oversee the day-to-day operations across the principals’ existing business, personal, and property portfolios, ensuring teams, systems, and priorities remain aligned. You will lead leadership meetings, manage objectives and key results, and keep performance on track while safeguarding the principals’ time through effective scheduling, concise decision-brief preparation, and stakeholder coordination. Responsibilities include managing senior team performance across time zones, streamlining core processes in finance, HR, and reporting, liaising with specialist advisors, and overseeing the smooth running of the principals’ international businesses, properties and household teams, with occasional travel as required.

You will also be at the operational heart of a diverse portfolio of early-stage ventures, spanning rainforest-protection technology, AI-driven construction tech start-ups, NGOs, retail product launches, and more, with new concepts constantly emerging. The ideal candidate will thrive on making dynamic leaders more effective, excel at building structure from creativity, and take pride in delivering measurable outcomes.

This is a full-time, high-level position that offers the rare opportunity to combine commercial leadership with meaningful environmental impact, alongside the chance to work directly with and learn from two incredibly inspiring, and well-connected UHNW entrepreneurs. They value strategic thinking and will rely on you to bring organisation, planning, and structure to their visions and ideas.

The role is primarily hybrid, ideally with 2–3 days on-site in London or Oxfordshire and the remainder remote, though fully remote arrangements will be considered for outstanding candidates (at a reduced salary package). There will be occasional international travel, including annual visits to projects in South America, as well as networking events and international meetings.

The package includes a competitive salary, performance bonus, and meaningful equity stakes across high-potential ventures. Benefits include private medical cover, a pension scheme, generous annual leave, a professional development budget, and team-building opportunities such as an annual off-site at a portfolio location.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
• Oversee the management of the principals’ existing international businesses, properties and household teams
• Drive the validation and launch of new proto ventures, from initial scoping to MVP experiments and KPI tracking
• Prepare compelling investor decks, develop seed budgets, and manage fundraising timelines
• Negotiate supplier and partner agreements, guiding ventures to independent leadership once traction is achieved
• Lead the weekly leadership cadence, set and track OKRs, and maintain clear, up-to-date portfolio dashboards (ClickUp/Notion)
• Manage the performance of multiple globally distributed team members, including recruiting for priority roles
• Protect the principals’ time through effective calendar management, preparation of decision briefs, and coordination of board and advisor engagements
• Standardise finance, HR, and reporting processes, coordinating with existing external advisors (e.g., legal, HR, finance, IP, immigration, and tax) and engaging additional specialists as required
• Apply expert problem-solving skills to identify and resolve potential conflicts before they arise
• Maintain ongoing communication with managers overseeing major projects in South America
• Travel as needed for site visits, networking events, and key meetings

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
• 5+ years’ experience in a venture studio, start-up COO, portfolio operations, or Chief of Staff role, ideally supporting UHNW family offices or high-profile entrepreneurs

• Exceptional emotional intelligence with the ability to adapt seamlessly to different working styles, personalities and cultures
• Proven 0 to 1 track record, successfully taking at least one concept from idea stage to paying customers or securing funding
• Demonstrated operational excellence and expertise in building systems, processes, and structures in ambiguous, fast-paced environments

• Significant experience recruiting, coaching, and managing high-performance teams across multiple geographies, time zones, and remote/distributed contexts
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail, confidently representing principals to stakeholders at all levels
• Right to work in the UK with the flexibility to travel internationally, sometimes at short notice
• Strong, verifiable references in hand
