Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Corporate Controller, the Accountant – Family Office & Corporate Entities is responsible for providing full-cycle accounting support across both family office and corporate entities. The position will focus primarily on family office functions such as bookkeeping, reconciliations, tax payment coordination, and inter-company transactions, while also supporting corporate accounting as needed. This individual must exercise the highest level of confidentiality and discretion, with the ability to manage complex, multi-entity structures and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Perform general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and monthly bookkeeping across multiple entities.
  • Support accounting and reporting for family trusts, including reconciliations, distributions, and coordination with external advisors.
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, maintaining organized records and supporting cash flow needs.
  • Coordinate quarterly and year-end tax-related activities, including payments, notices, and data preparation for external Tax Advisors and CPA firms.
  • Prepare and process capital call and distribution notices in coordination with ownership and external advisors.
  • Prepare and process ACH and wire transfers, ensuring accuracy, proper authorization, and timely execution.
  • Assist with year-end functions such as 1099 preparation and annual reporting.
  • Support outside auditors by providing requested documentation and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and file routine returns such as sales tax and property tax as required.
  • Ensure monthly and annual closings are completed accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with affiliated companies and internal departments to support inter-company transactions and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Liaise with internal and outside accounting, legal, and banking partners as needed to support family office and corporate requirements.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Job Requirements - Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience)

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity or family office environment.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger, reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end/year-end processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and QuickBooks; experience with other accounting or ERP systems a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with external CPA firms and auditors on tax filings, audits, and compliance matters.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when working with confidential financial information.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.

Compensation: $70,304 – $85,000 annually, depending on experience.

Physical Requirements

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk or hear; and occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities by this job include close distance and color vision.
