Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 50 firm, is seeking a talented Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney to join its national Private Client Services Group in SeattleBellevueChicago, or Palo Alto. This is a unique hybrid opportunity to work with a collaborative team of sophisticated practitioners on high-value, complex estate planning matters for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • 2–8 years of substantive transactional experience in estate planning and trust and estate administration.
  • LL.M. in Taxation is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of federal estategift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws.
  • Experience with the structuring and implementation of sophisticated estate planning strategies, including family limited partnershipsgrantor trustsGRATs, and charitable planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients and collaborate effectively with family office advisors and fiduciaries.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise high-net-worth individuals and families on estate and tax planning strategies tailored to their specific needs and goals.
  • Draft a wide variety of planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advanced directives.
  • Assist clients with the creation and administration of family offices, and with planning related to closely held businesses, private foundations, and special assets such as art and real estate.
  • Represent fiduciaries in the administration, modification, and decanting of complex trusts.
  • Collaborate with attorneys in other practice groups to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary advice to clients.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Expected annual salary ranges from $235,000 to $420,000, in addition to eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
