Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Manage and liaise with clients and their advisors to ensure complete client satisfaction.
- Day‐to‐day management of Family Office staff to ensure work is completed timely and efficiently
- Review incoming/outgoing checks and wires for household, investments, and related entities.
- Review of reports including bank reconciliations, investments, budgets, payroll tax, PFS, and loan applications.
- Review and maintain tax records to facilitate preparation of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, LLCs, trusts and charitable entities.
- Review and oversee administration of payroll, 401(K) and medical plans for household staff.
- Ability to work independently and without supervision
- Train and mentor associates.
- Flexibility in schedule; able to travel within the Tri‐state and work additional hours to meet deadlines
- Assist with long‐term financial planning for clients.
- Assist in developing and implementing controls and procedures and ensuring compliance.
- Partner with the Family Office Leader to continue to build the infrastructure of the family office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in finance or accounting
- CPA and or other certifications preferred
- Prior experience in public accounting
- Knowledge of tax law
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, with a degree concentration in accounting or finance
- 10+ years’ experience in in the Family Office space or accounting firm experience
- 3+ years’ of supervisory experience in related field
- Proficient accounting knowledge and foundation
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills
- Superb communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and also work well with others
- Able to multi-task and prioritize deliverables to meet competing deadline
- Must display a high sense of integrity, ethics and values.
- Diplomatic, tactful and discrete concerning confidential information.
- Must be able to work in the NYC midtown office five days per week.
- Proficient use of technology including experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, QBO and Hubdoc.
The annual salary target for this job in this market is $160,000 - $200,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on education, experience and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
