🚀 Take full autonomy of the end-to-end accounting and tax functions across multiple businesses 

A diverse family office encompassing various operating entities is seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations and tax compliance. The role is based in the Cape Town CBD. You will report directly to the Owner and assume full autonomy of the accounting and tax functions. This highly independent role requires an entrepreneurial mindset that can navigate high-pressure seasonal demands without micromanagement, ensuring accurate financial records and resolving immediate tax compliance challenges. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Maintain full end-to-end bookkeeping and financial records across multiple related business entities.
• Manage complex tax submissions and ensure full compliance through SARS e-filing.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, comprehensive financial statements, and performance reports.
• Develop strategic budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections to support business planning.
• Oversee the full payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
• Coordinate with external auditors and advisors to facilitate seamless audits and financial reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial controls and streamline operational efficiency.

 Qualifications & Experience: 

• PA(SA), AGA(SA), CA(SA) or CIMA with 4 to 15 years of applicable experience (registered Tax Practitioner is highly advantageous)
• Proven hands-on capability in multi-entity financial management and managing concurrent tax submissions.
• Strong technical proficiency in either Pastel and Xero accounting systems, alongside advanced Excel skills.
• Previous experience working within a professional services or multi-business environment is highly preferred.
• Willingness to work on-site in Cape Town and commit to extended hours during seasonal reporting peaks.
• Highly analytical and detail-oriented communicator capable of managing competing priorities under pressure without micromanagement.

 Salary & Benefits:

• R35,000 - R60,000 per month, highly dependent on qualifications and experience.
• Possible 13th cheque based on performance.
