Charles River CFO is seeking a seasoned Fractional CFO to lead the financial infrastructure buildout for a newly formed Family Office with over $1B in assets, focused on Private Equity and Venture Capital. This role is mission-critical and requires a highly experienced executive who can operate with full autonomy and hit the ground running. The part-time role is a 10-15 hours a week commitment and fully remote. 


Location: United States (Remote), this position is open to U.S.-based candidates. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage comprehensive domestic and international banking infrastructure, including U.S. and offshore entities.
  • Leverage existing relationships with top-tier banks (e.g., JPMorgan, UBS, Morgan Stanley, etc.) to secure banking services, custody solutions, and credit facilities.
  • Coordinate and secure BCLs, SBLCs, and structured credit arrangements as needed for transactions and capital deployment.
  • Design and oversee financial reporting, compliance, treasury operations, and FX/cash management.
  • Implement best-in-class systems for capital call processes, K-1s, waterfall distribution models, and multi-entity accounting.
  • Partner with legal and tax counsel to ensure optimal tax structuring, regulatory compliance, and international asset protection.
  • Provide ongoing financial strategy, forecasting, and support for investment decisions and global expansion.


Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in a family office, PE/VC firm, or ultra-high-net-worth environment.
  • Proven track record setting up and managing global banking and financial infrastructure.
  • Strong relationships with international private banking and institutional finance desks.
  • Deep knowledge of credit instruments, cross-border structuring, and private capital markets.
  • No tolerance for learning curves – must bring ready-made solutions and execution capabilities.

This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role with immediate execution requirements. Only candidates with top-tier institutional backgrounds and relevant experience will be considered.
