We are looking for a junior paralegal to join our growing team. As a member of our team, you are actively supporting associates and paralegals, and providing administrative support to help our clients through the corporate life cycle and transactional mandates. Your organizational skills, initiative, and strong work ethic will allow you to coordinate and meet the deadlines of multiple files.

KPMG Law LLP’s Family Office Team assists companies and individuals with estate and wealth planning and corporate reorganizations and restructurings. KPMG Law is involved in each stage of tax driven corporate reorganization work – from planning to implementation. 


What you will do

  • Prepare annual corporate maintenance documents, i.e. annual proceeding resolutions
  • Preparing routine corporate resolutions, such as dividends
  • Prepare and file: Federal annual returns and Quebec annual declarations; register enterprises and partnerships at the REQ
  • Maintain corporate records and corporate data base (Minutebox)
  • Prepare documents and coordinate extra provincial registrations of entities in other Canadian jurisdictions and keep compliance matters up to date in connection with those registrations
  • Prepare resolutions and public filing documents to record director/officer and registered office address changes
  • Compile information required for beneficial ownership registers and collect and protect client information required for such registers
  • Prepare correspondence with clients and agents for service
  • Conduct corporate, personal property, litigation and other searches and compiling due diligence reports


What you bring to the role

  • A minimum of 1 year of corporate law experience
  • An undergraduate university degree and/or a college Law Clerk/Paralegal diploma with excellent academic credentials
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Decisiveness and the ability to balance the demands of a high volume practice
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong MS Office skills

The position involves working primarily with English speaking clients and the incumbent must be able to communicate with the clients, both verbally and in writing, in English. They also must be able to assist with the preparation of English language documents.

This role is hybrid and requires in-person presence in our Montreal Office.
