Overview
ICBD is a robust single-family office focused on private investment and business development, supporting exceptional companies in healthcare, technology, and beyond.
Reporting to the ICBD CEO, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will serve as the architect of ICBD’s brand ecosystem and growth engine, responsible for building, scaling, and integrating marketing capabilities across a nascent, high-growth portfolio.
This is a foundational leadership role focused on defining and operationalizing brand architecture across multiple portfolio companies—establishing clear positioning, differentiated value propositions, and cohesive storytelling that accelerates meaningful, sustainable growth.
The CMO will design and execute a modern, data-driven growth marketing strategy that fuels customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value, while building the infrastructure, systems, and team required to scale. This leader will partner closely with executives and portfolio company leadership to translate early-stage market opportunity into disciplined, repeatable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Architecture & Positioning
- Define and implement a scalable brand architecture framework across the ICBD portfolio, ensuring clarity, differentiation, and cohesion across all entities.
- Establish compelling brand positioning, messaging, and narratives tailored to distinct audience segments and growth stages.
- Build brand systems, guidelines, and governance models that enable consistency while supporting speed and experimentation.
Growth Strategy & Market Expansion
- Design and lead an end-to-end growth marketing strategy focused on rapid yet sustainable market penetration for early-stage and scaling businesses.
- Identify high-impact growth opportunities across channels, markets, and customer segments, translating them into actionable playbooks.
- Drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention through a full-funnel, test-and-learn approach grounded in performance data.
Marketing Infrastructure & Scalability
- Build and operationalize the marketing function from the ground up, including tools, systems, processes, and analytics capabilities.
- Develop scalable demand generation engines across digital, content, partnership, and lifecycle marketing.
- Establish KPIs, attribution models, and dashboards that create visibility into growth drivers and ROI.
Portfolio Integration & Collaboration
- Partner with portfolio company CEOs and leadership teams to embed marketing as a core growth lever within each business.
- Collaborate with the Chief Growth Officer and cross-functional leaders to align go-to-market strategies with broader business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to operating companies, helping them navigate early-stage market dynamics and brand evolution.
Data-Driven Performance & Optimization
- Instill a culture of experimentation, measurement, and continuous optimization across all marketing initiatives.
- Own and optimize marketing investment strategy, ensuring disciplined allocation of capital to the highest-return growth opportunities.
- Leverage insights to refine positioning, improve conversion rates, and unlock new growth channels.
Team Building & Leadership
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing, entrepreneurial marketing team capable of operating in ambiguity and rapid growth environments.
- Foster a culture rooted in accountability, creativity, speed, and measurable impact.
- Assess talent needs across the portfolio and develop capabilities aligned to early-stage and scaling company requirements.
Compliance & Industry Stewardship
- Ensure all marketing activities comply with healthcare regulatory standards while maintaining innovative and competitive positioning.
- Establish clear policies and review processes to balance speed-to-market with risk management.
Requirements
Qualifications, Personal Attributes & Education
Education:
- The Chief Marketing Officer requires a minimum of a BS/BA in Marketing, Business Administration or relevant field.
- MBA (or equivalent) highly preferred.
Experience/Personal Attributes:
- 15+ years of marketing leadership experience (B2C & B2B) in regulated multi-brand healthcare or similar highly service focused industry.
- Proven experience building brands and marketing functions in early-stage or high-growth environments.
- Expertise in brand architecture, multi-brand strategy, and positioning across emerging businesses.
- Strong track record of driving measurable growth through modern, digital-first marketing strategies.
- Builder mindset with the ability to create structure, processes, and teams from the ground up.
- Data-driven decision-maker with deep understanding of performance marketing and analytics.
- Collaborative, hands-on leader comfortable operating in ambiguity and rapid change.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills required to initiate and develop productive working partnerships with all levels of management/leadership and staff.
- Must be confident and decisive but be a good listener and be flexible/adaptable as well.
- Willingness to travel nationwide (10-15%) to support marketing initiatives, events, and strategic partnerships.
Location, Travel and Role Expectations
This is a full-time position based in ICBD’s corporate offices in Fort Lauderdale, FL with ability to travel as needed; possibly for extended periods of time.
