A prestigious and highly dynamic Confidential Family Office in West Palm Beach, FL, is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join their team. This role is ideal for a proactive, strategic, and hands-on financial leader with strong tax expertise and experience managing diverse assets, businesses, and investments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all financial operations, including accounting, tax strategy, reporting, and compliance.
- Develop and execute tax strategies that optimize the Principal’s multiple income streams and expenses.
- Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure seamless tax planning and filings.
- Manage all aspects of accounting, including A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, investment account tracking, and financial forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with corporate income tax, pass-through entity tax, partnership tax, sales/use tax, VAT, GST, and other relevant filings.
- Lead budgeting processes, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning.
- Oversee journal entries, month-end and year-end closing, and maintain accounting records.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, investment teams, and legal advisors.
- Drive process improvements and implement financial technology solutions.
Qualifications:
- Strong tax experience with a deep understanding of complex tax structures and multi-entity planning.
- CPA qualification
- Preferred background in Big 4 accounting, with a transition into a private family office or a similar setting.
- Proven ability to work independently and take initiative without requiring detailed instructions.
- Experience handling high-net-worth individual (HNWI) finances, including personal and business assets.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Hands-on approach—comfortable being both a "doer" and a manager in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in financial software, reporting tools, and accounting technology.
- Ability to communicate complex financial matters in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
