Overview and Opportunity
We are working exclusively with a newly established Single Family Office in Barcelona seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to lead the development and build-out of the family office.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced investment or family office executive to work closely with the Principal and take responsibility for establishing the infrastructure, strategy and operating model of a new family office.
The successful candidate will have significant autonomy and influence over how the office develops, with the opportunity to build a high-performing team and establish the processes, governance and investment framework required to manage the family’s wealth over the long term.
The role will suit an entrepreneurial and commercially minded executive who combines strong investment understanding with excellent leadership, strategic and stakeholder-management capabilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Principal to develop and execute the overall strategy and objectives of the family office.
- Lead the establishment and development of the Single Family Office, including its operating model, governance framework and organisational structure along with Chief of Staff.
- Work with the Principal to develop, implement and continuously refine the family’s investment strategy and asset allocation framework.
- Oversee relationships with external, banks, lawyers, tax advisers, accountants and other professional advisers.
- Establish appropriate investment reporting, risk management and performance-monitoring processes.
- Provide the Principal with clear, independent analysis and recommendations to support investment and strategic decision-making.
- Lead the recruitment, development and management of the family office team as the organisation grows.
- Oversee liquidity and cash management and ensure appropriate capital is available to meet the family’s requirements and investment opportunities.
- Support the evaluation and execution of new investment opportunities.
- Establish appropriate governance and decision-making processes across the family office.
- Coordinate tax, legal, estate-planning and succession advisers to ensure the family’s wider objectives are appropriately supported.
- Oversee strategic projects and initiatives across the family’s investment portfolio and wider interests.
- Ensure the family office operates to the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, governance and confidentiality.
Ideal Candidate:
- Significant senior-level experience within investments, family offices or a related financial environment.
- A strong understanding of investment strategy, asset allocation and portfolio construction.
- Experience working across multiple asset classes.
- Demonstrable leadership and team-building experience.
- Experience managing sophisticated external advisers and investment partners.
- Strong commercial judgement and strategic thinking.
- The ability to operate with significant autonomy and take ownership of complex initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.The confidence to act as a trusted strategic partner to the Principal.
- High levels of discretion, integrity and confidentiality.
- Fluent in both Spanish and English
- A third language would be beneficial
