Our client, a prestigious Family Office within the Wealth Management sector, is seeking a qualified CA(SA) to take responsibility for the financial oversight of a diverse portfolio of family business interests, trusts, and investment structures.
This is a high-trust, high-responsibility role suited to a commercially minded finance professional who combines strong technical accounting ability with discretion, maturity, and sound judgment. The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding and growing long-term family wealth while working closely with senior stakeholders and external advisors.
The position also offers a unique long-term opportunity to grow into broader fiduciary responsibilities, including potential succession into trusteeship roles.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee the full accounting and tax function across multiple entities, trusts, and investment structures
- Prepare and review annual financial statements and consolidated reporting
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across the family portfolio
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and treasury requirements
Wealth & Investment Oversight
- Assist in monitoring investment portfolios and performance across asset classes
- Provide financial analysis and input on investment decisions and opportunities
- Liaise with wealth managers, stockbrokers, and investment advisors
- Track and report on both local and offshore investment performance
Tax & Compliance
- Oversee tax compliance for individuals, trusts, and corporate structures
- Coordinate with tax advisors on structuring, estate planning, and optimisation strategies
- Ensure compliance with SARS, CIPC, and other regulatory bodies
- Manage audit processes and statutory submissions
Trusts & Estate Planning
- Assist with the administration and governance of family trusts and entities
- Support succession planning and intergenerational wealth transfer initiatives
- Maintain accurate governance records, resolutions, and legal documentation
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with bankers, auditors, attorneys, and investment professionals
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with family members and advisors
- Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified CA(SA) and SAICA registered
- Minimum 5+ yearsβ post-articles experience
- Experience within wealth management, family office environments, fiduciary services, private clients, or investment-focused roles
- Strong understanding of trusts, tax structures, and multi-entity accounting
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
Advantageous Experience
- Exposure to offshore structures and international investments
- Knowledge of estate planning principles
- Experience with property portfolios or alternative investments
